 Testing Times... Using Psychometrics (A guide for managers) The term “psychometrics” is becoming more common amongst the HR community and also within recruitment as a whole. However, there is very little common understanding amongst general managers about what exactly psychometrics are, how they can benefit a company and how they should be used. In this article Abeceder associate Jane Addy looks at the whole area of psychometrics, taking in both the frequently asked questions and then looking at how psychometrics can contribute in a wider role outside of pure assessment and selection.
 Assessment Centres Assessed While the use of assessment centres is on the increase (according to a recent CIPD survey, 34% of employers surveyed had used them), the importance of adopting good practices cannot be over-emphasised.
